Simply Sensational and Hot!

I am super excited about our first publicity appearance! Pride Films and Plays, which is co-producing Beautiful Thing with Glitterati Productions, is throwing a benefit called Simply Sensational 2 on Tuesday, October 9 at 6pm at Stage 773. I will be there with a few other members of the Beautiful Thing cast and crew.
The evening benefits Pride Films and Plays’ upcoming season, which includes the world premieres of At The Flash and Under A Rainbow Flag, and the 20th anniversary revival of Beautiful Thing.
Tickets for Simply Sensational 2 are $50 for VIP reserved center section seating, and $25 for general admission. For tickets, click on the image at the top of this post. **I have a connection for $10.00 tickets! If you are interested in attending, please leave a comment below.** And please remember, a portion of your ticket supports our production of Beautiful Thing.
For the last decade, Theo Ubique has set the standard for musical excellence in the off-Loop scene. And their new Jeff Award-recommended production of Smokey Joe’s Cafe: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller has once again garnered raves. Hedy Weiss in the Chicago Sun-Times writes, “There is so much sassy talent generating so much rock ‘n’ roll heat in the Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre production of Smokey Joe’s Cafe: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller that it might just be worth issuing this warning to the long-running and similarly rock-fueled show Million Dollar Quartet: After all these years, you’ve finally got some genuine competition.”
Smokey Joe’s Cafe joins an amazing line-up of talent for Simply Sensational 2, including:
- Heidi Kettenring, now starring in Sunday in the Park With George at Chicago Shakespeare
- Cabaret star Tom Michael
- The sensational singing trio “With A Twist”
- The cast of Bailiwick Chicago’s Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson
- Kate Garassino and the NightBlue Theater cast of Avenue Q
- International singing sensation Kim Kuzma
The evening beings at 6 pm with appetizers and an open bar with champagne, wine, beer, and soft drinks.
At intermission, the bar reopens, and guests are welcome to sample the dessert buffet provided by J and L Catering, provided through the generosity of Michael A. Leppen.
Door prizes of tickets, dinners, and gift certificates will also be raffled off during the evening.
Stage 773 is at 1225 West Belmont, Chicago.
I will post photos and details of the night the following day. Until next time, have beautiful day!
